Pet Description

Words cannot express the gratitude our family has for Sherri. From the very first time we spoke with you on the phone, we felt peace and love. As I watched Sherri take care of our Grace, I felt that an angel had been sent from God. I always said I got my Gracie by the “Grace of God.”  “For by grace you are saved, through faith, and not of yourselves. It is a gift from God.”- Ephesians 2:8.  Gracie, my Golden Retriever, was the canine daughter that truly saved us on a daily basis. When she passed unexpectedly early that June 17th morning, we were devastated.  She had had a stroke only 2 days prior to that and the veterinarian said that she would get better. Unfortunately, she quietly passed away in her sleep with my loving arm wrapped around her. As I said, we were devastated. Only weeks prior to that day, at our pet food store, A Dog´s Life, my husband, Jim, had picked up a flyer about the DeJohn Pet Services, and I am so grateful that he did. After Gracie passed, Jim called Sherri from the funeral home and she was an angel. She had made arrangements for us to bring Gracie in. Upon arrival we were greeted with a beautiful bed to place our loving Grace. As we got to know Sherrie, we realized that Gracie was going to be taken care with the same love and compassion that she would have given to her own pets.  There never is enough time to say goodbye to your loved ones, but Sherri never ever rushed us or pushed us along. In fact when Gracie passed, my son, Anthony, was out of town. We asked Sherri if it would be possible to hold off on the cremation process until my son had an opportunity to say his goodbyes. Sherri quickly said yes. After taking 3 days to get him home, Anthony chose not to see his Grace.  Sherri wasn´t upset; she simple said “maybe in a few days he will be ready.” My husband and I visited Grace. She looked beautiful! Sherri had done such a wonderful job on keeping our Gracie precious and glowing. We said our final goodbyes to the physical Grace and Sherrie was there consoling along the way. Sherri gave us exactly what we needed-time to accept what was taken so quickly from us. When we picked up our Grace, we were given a beautiful swatch of Gracie´s fur, and paw and nose impressions. Sherri made sure that she got a “good one.” I never knew that a dog´s nose impression is as unique and individual as a human´s fingerprint. Each day, I touch the impressions reminding myself of my unique and very special Gracie.  We have had 2 other canine kids that had passed prior to Grace, and when we received them back from their cremation, we got them in a plastic bag that was in a plastic tin. Gracie came home in the style that she so deserved of-in a blue, velvet bag.  Because of Sherri from DeJohn Pet Services, my husband and I see how your canine child should be treated.  We are going to have them placed in a better resting place. We cannot say enough about this very special human angel, Sherri, who took care of our very special canine angel, Gracie. When the time comes for you to make a choice about how your pet will be treated when they pass, I hope that you will have Sherri from DeJohn Pet Services take care of your canine family member.
