*DeJohn funeral home was such a blessing to us! The loss of our little dog, Ziggy, was such a heartbreaking day for us. It has been very tough getting over the loss of such a great friend, companion, and little sister to me. My dog meant the world to me and I just didn’t want her to be seen as another number. Well, at DeJohn she definitely WAS NOT! They treated my baby girl with such respect and they made us feel very comforted. Ziggy was cremated and put in a little baggie that says “Until We Meet Again At The Rainbow Bridge” and put in a very nice wooden box. We also got some clippings of her fur, all four paws prints, some pamphlets on coping, and some lovely poems! When I picked my puppy up today, I cried so much. Everything that was included in the folder was so comforting and so personal to read that it put my heart at ease. I pray to my Ziggy every day and I want to thank Sherri and everyone else at DeJohn funeral home for being so wonderful to us in our time of need. I recommend anyone to contact DeJohn about ANY of their services, pet or human, for their funeral/cremation needs. * It is with heavy hearts, we had to make a difficult decision yesterday as our old boy Zonan progressively lost use of his rear legs in the last few days. His actions (or lack of) indicated he was tired, in pain, or both. He also began accepting his food without as much vigor. I believe there were other issues going on as his gums were quite pale and breathing at times was labored.
His last trip to see Dr. Keith at Village Vet yesterday though was good – he liked the van ride with Jim sitting next to him petting him and enjoyed the attention at the vet’s office. His spirit came back at the end and will be forever within our hearts. We drove him from Village Vet to DeJohn Pet Services in Willoughby Hills to have him cremated. Manager Sherry DiPietro is an exceptional caring, compassionate and spiritual individual whom we felt 100% comfortable leaving Zonan’s body with for cremation. We spent over an hour talking about our dogs and dealing with the loss. All cremations are private and secure. Zonan will get a paw print taken in clay, with which I plan to later use for a sterling silver pendant with the actual (reduced) paw print. – Liz & Jim
